One of my absolute favourite parts of being a bridal consultant? Meeting so many incredible women — all different shapes, all different personalities, and all with their own vision for their wedding day. 💖
But I’ll be honest… something I see far too often is this: curvy brides walking through the door so nervous and not looking forward to dress shopping!
Some start their appointment by nervously saying things like:
“You mightn’t have anything to fit me…”
“I hate trying on dresses…”
“I hate my arms/ tummy etc…”
And truly? It breaks my heart. Because every single bride deserves to feel excited, beautiful when dress shopping! We're biased but it should be one of the most memorable, exciting parts of the wedding dress planning experience!
That’s why from the very moment a bride arrives, my top priority is putting brides at ease so they enjoy their shopping experience and hopefully with my help- find the perfect dress, not just a dress that they love but a dress that they love themselves in!
We want this experience to feel seamless, fun, and completely stress-free — like catching up with friends and playing dress-up (with better lighting and a glass of bubbles 😉).

Whether it’s a dreamy A-line, a structured corseted gown that offers gorgeous support, or a sparkly showstopper that makes you feel fun and fabulous… your dress is waiting, and it will make you feel like the most radiant version of yourself.

Trisha’s Top Tips to help you look forward to and enjoy your wedding dress shopping experience.
If you’re a curvaceous bride getting ready to try on dresses — here are a few things I always share with my brides to help them feel confident and prepared before their appointment:
1. Keep an Open Mind
The dress you’ve saved on Instagram might not be the one — and that’s okay! Sometimes, the dress that looks the least like what you imagined ends up being the one that makes you feel like yourself. Trust the process (and your stylist 💖). Sometimes curvy brides restrict themselves when looking online to certain shapes or silhouettes and get such a shock when they try on dresses outside of their comfort zone. Be open because that fitted strapless dress might just be the one that shows off your amazing curves and makes you feel the best you ever did!
2. Choose the Right Underwear
Wearing nude, seam-free underwear (and a strapless bra if you prefer) can really help you visualise the fit of a dress without distractions. It’s not about looking “perfect” — it’s about feeling comfortable.
3. Share Your Worries with us
We'll do a call with you before your appointment and don't be afraid to be honest with us about your concerns and worries. This is our chance to talk through these with you and make sure the shopping experience is everything it should be for you. We can check the sizes of your favourite dresses for you so you aren't worried about sizing, we can talk through styles that will accentuate your favourite body parts. Lots of brides say that they felt much more at ease, the nerves disappeared and were replaced with excitement after their pre-call.
4. Bring the Right People
Supportive, honest, and positive voices only. Whether it’s your mum, sister, or bestie — bring people who lift you up and help you feel like the main character (because you are).
5. Be Kind to Yourself
Trying on dresses can feel emotional — and that’s okay. But remember, you deserve to feel gorgeous right now, exactly as you are. The right dress will highlight your beauty, not change it.
