I’m Emma, and I’ve been part of the Pearls & Lace family for over 4 wonderful years. In that time, I’ve met so many incredible brides — each with their own story, style, and dream for the big day. I know how exciting (and sometimes nerve-wracking!) it can feel like walking into your bridal appointment, so I wanted to share a few things that might help you feel calm, confident, and completely ready for your visit with us.
💕 First things first — don’t be nervous!
It’s so normal to feel a little anxious before your appointment — this is such a special moment, after all! But I promise, we’re here to make it as relaxed and enjoyable as possible. We always do a little pre-call before your visit to get to know you — where you are on your bridal journey, what styles you’ve loved or tried before, and how we can help you feel your absolute best.
👗 Let’s talk about your style (and comfort!)
We’ll chat through what areas you love to show off and what you might be a little conscious of — this helps us find gowns that make you feel confident, comfortable, and completely you. We’re here to guide, support, and style you every step of the way.
💸 Be open about your budget
It’s really helpful for us to know your budget before your appointment so we can bring in gowns that fit beautifully and are within your price range. We respect every budget and want your experience to feel stress-free from start to finish. We’ll also chat through deposits and payment plans so you know exactly how it all works.
👯♀️ Who to bring
We always recommend bringing the people who mean the most to you — the ones whose opinions you truly value. The “yes” moment can happen when you least expect it, so it’s lovely to have your favourite people there to celebrate with you. That said, if you feel more comfortable with a smaller group that’s absolutely perfect too. Do whatever feels right for you.
⏰ What to expect on the day
Your appointment lasts 90 minutes, and you’ll be looked after by one of our gorgeous bridal consultants — someone who lives and breathes all things bridal! Whether it’s your first time trying on dresses or you’re still finding your style, you’ll be in expert hands. We want your appointment to feel fun, relaxed, and full of those magical “this is the one” moments.
👖 Before you arrive
We’ll also ask you to take a few screenshots of dresses you love from our website or social pages, just to get a feel for your vision. And if you already have a venue or wedding vibe in mind, we’d love to hear all about it — it really helps us bring your look to life & this helps us pull the best-fitting gowns for you from the start.
💬 A few extra tips
If you’d prefer to chat about things like sizing or budget privately, we can cover all of that before your appointment so you don’t need to discuss it during your appointment with us. We also love to know if you have any friends or family who’ve been Pearls & Lace brides — that way we can make sure to avoid any of their chosen gowns to keep everything special and unique for you.
At the end of the day, our goal is simple — to make you feel beautiful, relaxed, and completely supported as you find your dream dress. 💖
