REAL BRIDE BLOG- STACIE & STEPHEN

Next up on our blog we have the beautiful Stacie and her now husband Stephen. Their fabulous celebration at Harvey's Point provided the perfect backdrop — with its breathtaking lakeside setting and warm, romantic atmosphere. It was the ideal place to bring together family and friends for a day that felt both elegant and deeply personal.

When a bride walks through our doors at Pearls & Lace, there’s always a sense of excitement — but every so often, a moment happens that feels truly unforgettable. While searching for her perfect fitted wedding dress, she knew she wanted something modern with sparkle, elegant sleeves, and a silhouette that would feel both glamorous and timeless. With her mum and bridesmaids by her side, she arrived for her very first — and, as it turned out, only — bridal appointment, ready to explore and enjoy the experience.

Then she stepped into Desiree by Eva Lendel… and the entire atmosphere in the room shifted. There’s a quiet kind of magic when a bride finds the one, and from that moment on, every dress was compared back to Desiree. The way it hugged her figure, the shimmer of the embellishment, and the statement details created a feeling that was impossible to ignore — she looked radiant, confident, and completely herself.

Let's hear all about it...

Stacie, firstly tell us about your dress?

My dress was the beautiful Desiree by the designer Eva Lendel.
When I was researching dresses, I knew that I wanted a fitted wedding dress, maybe something with a bit of sparkle & a sleeve but no lace. I really liked the look of the fitted dresses with 3D floral appliqué so I actually pictured myself in something like that with a small train at the back but I was open to trying everything on at my appointment. Pearls & Lace was my first & only appointment & I tried on 8-10 different dresses. Desiree was the second dress I tried on & it just stole the show for me. I had my mum & 3 bridesmaids with me & we kept comparing all of the dresses afterwards to Desiree. It was a beautiful fitted silhouette dress covered in embellishment & sequins with shoulder pads, long sleeves & a deep plunging neckline. The overskirt that came with the dress was optional but I just felt like it added the WOW factor.  I never pictured myself wearing an overskirt & I knew nobody else would either so that was another reason why I couldn't stop thinking about Desiree afterwards. I loved how it suited my figure & I felt so glamorous & confident wearing it & the overskirt just added a touch of drama to the overall look. Finally, the finishing touch was the bow detail on the belt of the overskirt & it actually played a big part in deciding the style for the rest of our wedding party

How did you style your dress?

I surprised myself again when it came to accessories because I didn't plan to wear a veil. I had a styling appointment at Pearls & Lace when my dress arrived where I tried on some veils with my dress & earrings.  I went with a Cathedral Length veil with a light sparkle to it which tied in perfect with the embellishment on the dress. Because I loved the bow detail on the belt of the overskirt, the girls at Pearls & Lace requested ordered another separate belt from the designer  so that I could wear that once I took off the overskirt on our Wedding Day! I loved how it felt like I had two different looks on the day without having two different dresses.
Because my dress was so detailed, I went with a very simple & comfortable ivory block heel from the brand 'Be Mine' on ASOS & I bought my earrings from Megan Therese Coutour Bridal. They matched my dress perfectly & I didn't need to wear any other jewellery because of the long sleeves & plunge neckline on my dress.
We got married in October so we wanted an Autumnal vibe for our flowers so they were a mixture of green foliage, oranges, dusty pinks & white.

The groom, groomsmen & page boy wore black tuxedo's & the groom wore a black velvet jacket with his tux.  My bridesmaids wore a black satin dress with a bow & drape detail on one shoulder. We styled their dresses with black & gold accessories. Our flower girl wore an ivory puff sleeve dress with a bow on the back so all of the bow detail tied in perfectly with my own dress.

What would your advice be for other brides to be?

Being organised pays off. I had a pretty relaxed week on the run up to the wedding which was lovely. Another piece of advice is not to stress the small things & leave your suppliers to it because they know what they are doing & will do an amazing job!

What was your most memorable moment of your special day?

There are lots to choose from but we loved the time away when it was just the two of us getting our photos done & also walking into our wedding reception seeing all of our favourite people having a good time & cheering us on .

Looking back, choosing Desiree was more than finding a dress — it was discovering a look that made her feel confident, radiant, and completely herself. The unexpected details, from the dramatic overskirt to the bow that inspired the wider wedding styling, came together to create a bridal moment that felt both personal and unforgettable.

We feel so honoured to have been part of her journey — from that first appointment to finding the gown that stole her heart. Moments like these are why we do what we do, and we wish her a lifetime filled with the same joy and sparkle she brought to her bridal experience.
