REAL BRIDE BLOG- JANET & ANDREW

Here at Pearls & Lace we love sharing the joy of our brides special day,  lets be honest who doesn't love a chance to have a sneak peek. Planning a wedding can be a daunting task so we hope you can garner some inspiration and even a few tips and tricks from our Real Bride Blog. The months of planning and preparation and maybe the odd sleepless night have led to this moment and I think we can all agree it's so worth it!!!!

Today on the blog we have Janet & Andrew, who held their reception in the beautiful Brandon House, Co. Wexford.

Noreen was Janets consultant, she helped her find her dream dress 'Clara' by Essense of Australia. Clara a high-fashion twist on the classic sheath silhouette, this wedding dress features intricate lace patterns contrasting with a sleek crepe fabric in the skirt which contours effortlessly to the body’s curves. Who doesn't love a little added drama with a beautiful cape.

Let's hear all about it...

Janet, firstly tell us about your dress?

I had been looking at the Pearls and Lace boutique on Instagram before I got engaged, just drooling over their sensational dresses, I knew this was the only place I wanted to buy my dream dress from. On a warm summer's morning, my mammy, sisters, auntie and I made our journey from the Sunny southeast (Wexford) all the way to the stunning hills of Donegal.
To be honest, I had a different dress in mind and when I tried it on I just didn't feel like a bride, however along came the show stopper, which my mammy had seen online and knew this was the one for me. I slipped it on and once I stepped out to show my family, the floodgates opened and the tears of joy started to flow, my mother was speechless which was strange to say the least. I knew this was the dress of my dreams. It was just stunning! It was designed by Martina Liana, off the shoulders with a beautiful sparkly cape that served as an enchanted trail, the bodice was embellished with sequins and the skirt was figure hugging. Everything I dreamed of and more.
How did you style your dress?
I felt that my dress was the showstopper, so I merely enhanced it with a kiss of elegance by wearing a simple drop earring. My wedding shoes were from the rainbow club, they were ivory chiffon bow heels which were very comfortable. My flowers were sourced by a local florist and she was amazing, I told Mary I wanted flowers that were in season and looked summery, she created the most beautiful bouquets filled with purples, pinks and white.

Tell us about your bridal party?
The groom (my handsome husband... eeek that still sounds weird ) wore a chic three-piece suit from Collar and Cuff in Dublin. The two groomsmen were also dressed in Collar and Cuff. My two beautiful bridesmaids wore lilac figure-hugging dresses from Quiz.
What would your advice be for other brides to be?
My one piece of advice to any bride getting married would be to focus on the main event, the marriage. You can get bogged down in all the little things many of which go unnoticed by your guests. Enjoy every minute, soak up the lead up to it and remember why this day is important, because it goes by so fast.

What was your most memorable moment of your special day?
Walking down the aisle in my local church, surrounded by the love of our friends and families, wearing my princess dress to look up and see the love of my life waiting for me to become his wife.
Thank you for allowing us to have a glimpse inside your special day Janet & Andrew.
