Firstly- tell us about your dress?
My dress was by designer Enzoani. It was the Nelia ivory, fitted shape with a v neck line and dainty sequin straps. The dress really hugged my figure. I also had an amazing cape which clipped on to two straps on my shoulder and had a v back line like the dress. My Grandmother came from Donegal and I spent a lot of my childhood in Donegal so I knew Donegal is where I wanted to get my dress and no other place only than Pearls and Lace. It was the only shop I tried on dresses.
The dress was not what I thought I originally would choose, I thought I would choose lace and long sleeves, in fact I ended up falling in love with the complete opposite: plain! I tried on approx. 6-8 dresses, I think, I didn’t count lol. I narrowed it down to 3 dresses, than 2 and then I just knew the plain dress was for me. My mum and dad were the only one’s that seen the dress on me, when my dad walked in and he seen me in the plain ivory dress and cape his reaction said it all! I knew this was my dream Wedding dress. The lady in the shop chose the dress for me to try on, she was soo helpful and I am so glad she had the best taste and knew by looking at me what would suit me. The girls are so knowledgeable, helpful and make you feel like the most special bride.
“It's true when they say what you think you want is not necessarily what you will choose!”
The Details
I went for Grecian elegant vibes with my wedding dress, the plain ivory dress, the ivory cape and I styled it with the most beautiful veil I have seen. It was cathedral length with lace details at the bottom: when I tried on the veil I felt like a princess bride.
I styled my hair with long Grecian curls to the back and wore a diamante hairband. My flowers were cascade in shape with whites, pinks and greens toning in with my pastel wedding theme. These flowers complimented my dress really well. I knew I wanted the traditional old style royal flowers shape, like what my mum and nanny had!
The Bridal Party
The groom wore a light navy/ grey suit with a cream flowery tie and cream waist coat with brown shoes. The groomsman wore light/navy grey suits with matching waistcoats and pink flowery ties. These toned in with the bridal party which I had two sage green dresses and two petal pink dresses. ( I wanted to do a different theme as I loved the two colours). The bridesmaids had posey flowers which were the same colour as the brides. The bridesmaids also had matching flower pink, cream and green hair pieces which suited the dresses.
Advice for other Brides
"My advice would be to choose what you want yourself. Do not be influenced by others. Ensure to take every moment of the day in as it is true when they say “the day is over in the blink of an eye”. Choose the dress you like, take the photos and enjoy it all!"
What was your most memorable moment of your special day?
The most memorial moment of the day was arriving at the church with butterflies in my tummy and meeting my husband to be at the altar. The most amazing day and the most amazing dress from Pearls and Lace, it made my wedding truly magical.
