“When is the right time to start shopping for my dress?”

Whether you’ve been saving dresses on Pinterest since before you got engaged, or you’re just beginning to explore your style, the timing of your appointment can make all the difference.
Our Recommendation: Begin Around 12 Months Before Your Wedding
For most brides, shopping around the one-year mark is ideal. Here’s why:

Designer lead times: Many wedding dress designers take between 6 and 8 months to deliver your gown after it’s ordered.

Alterations: You'll also need to allow time for fittings and any alterations to ensure the perfect fit.

Peace of mind: Shopping earlier gives you more options, and more time to focus on other elements of your wedding with less stress.
Even though most of the designers we work with have shorter delivery windows, giving yourself that extra breathing room means you can take your time, avoid rush fees, and explore a wider range of options.
But the Right Time Is Also About You
Every bride’s journey is different. Some brides visit us 18–24 months in advance because they prefer to be super organised or want to spread out the cost using one of our payment plans. Others wait until their vision is clearer and they feel ready to make a decision.
If you love the idea of being ahead of schedule, want to have time to look at accessories or bridesmaids’ dresses, or simply want to tick a major task off your list—you’re more than welcome to start early.
On the other hand, if you're unsure and worried about making a decision too soon, that’s completely understandable too. Just keep in mind that dresses can sometimes be discontinued or the sample you loved may no longer be available. If you fall in love with a dress early, we always suggest staying in touch so we can guide you through your options.
