REAL BRIDE BLOG- ZOE & STEVEN

At Pearls & Lace, we believe every love story is beautifully unique—just like every bride who walks through our doors. Today, we're thrilled to introduce you to one of our real brides, Zoë, who recently found her dream gown with us. Zoë fell in love with 'Maia' by Martina Lana. Maia is a combination of lace, tulle and stretch crepe to create a seamless silhouette. Lace adds a tattoo- like effect over the sheer long sleeves and semi-sheer bodice, forming a skinny plunge neckline and wide keyhole back.

Let's hear all about it...

Zoe, firstly tell us about your dress?

When I first got engaged Pearls & Lace was the first bridal shop I knew I wanted to go to, it ended up being the only one as I picked my dress on that first appointment.

My dress was and wasn’t what I expected. I knew that I wanted lace sleeves but after that I was open to different styles of dresses. In total I tried on around 6 dresses & the dress I chose was the second one I tried on. All the girls at Pearls & Lace were fantastic. I let Noreen who was my consultant that day pick out what she thought would suit me. I tried on all different types including without sleeves to make sure it was defintely what I wanted. I tried different types of skirts as I would have originally said that I didn’t want a fitted skirt but ended up loving this style and choosing a fitted dress with long sleeves. When I tried this dress on for the second time I just knew it was exactly what I wanted, I felt so elegant and confident wearing this dress. I knew this was the dress for me when the curtain was pulled back and my mum & bridesmaid went “Wow”. My dress is from the designer Martina Liana.

How did you style your dress?

I went for the crystal and pearl fine edge veil which really complimented my dress with a sparkle throughout it. My head piece was handmade for my maid of honour on her wedding day which I then used as my something borrowed which made it even more special. My bridesmaid flowers were a pale pink/lavender colour with some green foliage whilst mine were similar it also had a darker pink to make them stand out.

Tell us about your bridal party?

My bridesmaids wore a lavender grey Mark Lesley open back bridesmaid dress which had a beautiful drape at the back and diamond detail on the shoulders. The groom and groomsmen wore a navy Marc Darcy suit with a floral tie which complimented the pale bridesmaids colour.

What would your advice be for other brides to be?

One piece of advice I would give to other brides planning their big day would be to do as much as you can as soon as you know what you want, this way you can enjoy the last few months stress free and be able to take in that special time on the build up to your big day as the time will fly by and before you know it, it will all be over in a blink of an eye.

What was your most memorable moment of your special day?

There are so many special moments for me on my wedding day that it seems impossible to narrow it down to one. Although I thoroughly enjoyed every single minute of the church ceremony it felt so meaningful and special being able to walk up the isle with my dad and seeing all my family and friends there to show their love and support for our special day. My beloved pet donkey Sadie also made a special appearance to top off the most amazing day.

Thank you for your kind words Zoë, wishing you and your new husband a lifetime of happiness.
