Firstly- tell us about your dress?
My dress was the beautiful Lesley by Enzoani. I had my eye on this dress for the past year (even before I got engaged) but I thought I would go into my dress appointment with an open mind and try on other dresses as well. I tried on in total 5 dresses before I tried on the Lesley.
I left it to the end - and words can’t describe the feeling when I knew it was “the one”.
This dress was perfect for me and it suited the scene of our Santorini Wedding. It hugged me in all the right places and had such a beautiful train.
I wore a hair comb clip that my mum purchased for me at Pearls and Lace which was called “Grace”. It was a nice thought to wear something that my mum got for me, as we were eloping just me and my partner. My flowers were white lily’s, pink roses, and pampas grass. We wanted to keep a dusky colour scheme - so light pinks, beiges and whites. My bouquet fitted in just the way I planned.
The Bridal Party
The groom wore a white shirt paired with beige coloured trousers and brown loafers. It was the most perfect Santorini groom outfit. It was 27 degrees when we were out there so Jamie was glad he didn’t opt for a full suit. Also you walk around for a lot of your photographs so you don’t want to be wearing a lot of heavy clothes in the sun.
Advice for other Brides
One piece of advice is - do not worry about anyone else but only you and your future husband/wife. A lot of couples try to plan their weddings around others and pleasing other people but that’s not what a wedding is about. We always thought we wanted the big family wedding. After much thought we decided no we didn’t want the big wedding anymore just to please our families and do what society expects. We booked a last minute elopement with 9 months to spare and it was the best decision we made for us. We got an amazing wedding and a mini moon out of it too!
What was your most memorable moment of your special day?
There is two - when Jamie saw my dress on me for the first time and we were standing on top of a white washed building with nothing but blue waters and skies around us. He was so shocked and he loved everything about my dress. The second was when we were on top of the cliff side getting the second half of our photographs. The sun was setting, we were overlooking the entire island and it almost didn’t feel real. It was the most picturesque view. I couldn’t of asked for anything more on our beautiful day. It was perfect.
