Molly, firstly tell us about your dress?
Before I started dress shopping, I had seen so many dresses online and thought I knew exactly the style I wanted. But once I started trying on dresses, I quickly realised that what I had imagined for myself was completely different from what actually suited me and made me feel truly bridal, trust the process and listen to the Ladies.
The dress had the most beautiful sparkle and detail throughout it, which caught the light perfectly and made it feel so romantic and elegant. I absolutely loved the detailed bodice and how beautifully it fitted while still feeling soft, timeless, and comfortable.
The off-the-shoulder straps gave it such a classic bridal feel, while the full flowing skirt made me feel like a real bride the second I stepped into it. One of my favourite things about the dress was the way it moved, especially while dancing. It felt so light, dreamy, and effortless, and I honestly don’t think I’ll ever get over how special I felt wearing it on the day.
How did you style your dress?
I wanted my overall bridal look to feel timeless and romantic, so I kept my accessories very simple and classic. I wore an ivory cathedral veil which added such a soft bridal feel to the dress without taking away from any of the detail. I also wore beautiful drop pearl earrings which were subtle but still felt really elegant.
I didn’t want to over-accessorise because I truly felt the dress spoke for itself with all of its sparkle, detail, and beautiful shape. I loved how everything came together in such a natural and effortless way while still feeling glamorous and bridal.
For flowers, I chose bright spring colours which brought so much life and colour to the day. Roisin from Nettles & Petals created the most beautiful arrangements that tied everything together perfectly.
Tell us about your bridal party?
I wanted to add a little bit of colour to the day. My bridesmaids wore beautiful full-length sky blue dresses. The dresses were simple and elegant with soft flowing fabric and delicate bow detailing on the shoulders.
The colour looked stunning alongside the flowers and complemented the overall wedding aesthetic beautifully.
What would your advice be for other brides to be?
My biggest piece of advice would be to enjoy every single moment, from booking your very first wedding dress appointment right through to the final stages of planning. It’s such a special time in your life and it truly goes by so quickly.
Try not to let stress take over because everything always works out the way it’s meant to. There can be so much pressure around weddings, but the most important thing is remembering why you’re doing it all in the first place you’re marrying your best friend and celebrating one of the happiest days of your life surrounded by all the people you love most.
Take in every moment, don’t worry about perfection, and make sure to pause throughout the day to truly soak it all in because it passes in the blink of an eye.
What was your most memorable moment of your special day?
There were so many unforgettable moments throughout the day, but one of my favourites was the morning of the wedding, getting ready with all of my girls. The atmosphere was so exciting and fun getting glammed up, putting my dress on for the first time, and knowing the day we had waited so long for had finally arrived made it all feel so special.
Another moment that will stay with me forever was sitting at the top table with David and looking around the room taking everything in. Seeing all of our family and friends together in one place celebrating us and our marriage was such an amazing feeling. It was one of those moments where I just stopped and thought to myself, “This is really happening,” and felt so grateful to have all the people we love most there beside us.
