REAL BRIDE BLOG - SARAH & CHRIS

“The dress you choose isn’t just about how you look—it’s how you feel stepping into the next chapter of your love story.” 💞

Another of our beautiful brides on the blog today, Sarah and her now husband Chris

Sarah fell in love with Alexandra by Martina Liana, a fitted lace wedding dress with scalloped train - a gown that not only shows off your shape, but allows your bridal style to shine through. A plunging V-neckline is the focal point of the bodice, while the richly-beaded lace continues curving through and extending into a soft skirt. The lace-trimmed scoop back is highlighted with slight ruching on the back of the bodice while a dramatic train with lace scallop finishes the look perfectly.

Let's hear all about it...

Sarah, firstly tell us about your dress?

I had 2 other dress appointments before my visit to the Pearls and Lace ladies. At the time I thought I had an idea of what I wanted, seeing photos on their social media I had picked several I wanted to try on.
On arrival the ladies were lovely to deal with, they had all the dresses I had chosen available to try, but also encouraged me to try other dresses and styles too.
I had brought my Mam and sister for support and encouragement, they both would be honest about the dress but not over bearing or try to convince me of something different. It was important for me to have an honest opinion about the dresses I liked.
The minute I tried on my dress I knew it was the one.
In some ways it had details I knew I definitely wanted, and in others it was completely different to what I had thought I would go for.
It helped greatly that I was open minded and tried on several different styles and types of dresses.

How did you style your dress?

I envisioned a soft glam look for my wedding. I choose a cathedral length veil and tiara for the Church Ceremony with pearl and diamond earrings and bracelet.
I choose cascading flowers for myself and smaller bouquets for the bridesmaids. I choose creams greens and a soft pink. All my flowers were real, and they smelled beautiful also.
For the reception that evening, we removed the veil and tiara, and had a pearl and diamond clip added to the side of my hair to slightly change the style. This was also more comfortable for the evening celebrations.

Tell us about your bridal party?

Our groomsmen looked very handsome in 3 piece navy suits and silver ties. This matched the grooms navy suit, however he wore a grey waistcoat.
We also dressed both father of the bride and father of the groom in the same navy 3 piece suits with different ties to the groomsmen.
This made for beautiful family photos on the day.

My bridesmaids all wore the same style dress, in pastel colours, as it was a summer wedding I thought the colours would be beautiful. These were paired with silver heels and bags, and matching silver necklaces and earrings.
They also wore a silver and pearl headpiece in their hair.

What would your advice be for other brides to be?

Don't stress the little things. Everything falls into place.
Enjoy the day.
Our main checklist was to have a beautiful venue, good food and drinks and an amazing band for our celebrations.
A checklist really helped us, starting with most important down to least and just tick them off as there completed.

What was your most memorable moment of your special day?

Walking down the aisle with my Dad, it was very emotional.
Saying 'I do' and the kiss.
Standing in the garden of our hotel and a breeze caught my veil, the photographer caught it on photo and it was beautiful.

Thank you Sarah & Chris for sharing your day with us. Your wedding day looked beyond beautiful and we’re so grateful to have played a small role in it 💒✨
