Our goal is to make every bride feel special. From intimate one-on-one fittings to special styling appointments to help you complete your bridal look. This year we're dreaming big - just like you! Whether you're saying yes to the dress or finalising the finishing touches, we can't wait to be part of your journey. Our next bride on the blog sharing her special moments and inspiring us all is Orla and her new husband Eamon.
Orla fell in love with Miley, a chic crepe satin column sheath with sparkle embellishment. Miley features wide set shoulder straps and a draped scoop neckline with an alluring hint of pearl beaded accents. More shimmering pearls embellish the low open back detail that concludes with a fitted ruched hip to highlight the natural curves of this column sheath silhouette.
Let's hear all about it...
Orla, firstly tell us about your dress?
The dress I purchased was the “Miley” dress by designer Essence of Australia. This is a modern style dress. Simple and classic in the front with striking features in the back, with a low open back embellished with shimmering pearls.
For me I didn’t have an exact style that I wanted but I knew some features that I would like to have. This included a low back with pearl button details running down the entire train of the dress, something fitted and a dress that I felt comfortable in. What I loved most about this dress was that the material was very light and it was extremely comfortable! My main criteria was a dress that I would be able to move in with ease and I danced the night away in this dress. I knew it was the one when I turned around & I saw my family tearing up. For my appointment in Pearls and Lace I brought a party of 3 my mum, my sister and my aunt. This can be an overwhelming experience so my advice would be to keep it this to a small intimate group of people that you know will be frank and honest.
How did you style your dress?
I wanted to go for a classic yet elegant look. I kept my accessories very minimalistic and tied them in with the style of my dress. I wore a simple pearl-drop earring with a pearl and silver bracelet. For my hair I had sleek-back bun with random pearls glued to my hair, again tying-in with the design of my dress. For my bouquet I went with ivory and pale pink roses. Likewise, my bridesmaids flowers were ivory, & my mums dress was pale pink, so this was a nice way to tie everything in together.

For the bridesmaids we picked a floor length olive green stain dress, with a front-facing slit on the left leg, a V-neck line and ruching around the waist. The flowers were baby’s-breath (ivory) which popped out nicely against the dark green dresses. The groomsmen wore a navy tuxedo, with white shirts & ivory button-holes. We had a summer wedding so we decided to go with navy suits as opposed to black.
What would your advice be for other brides to be?
One piece of advice would be to try and be as organised as possible, especially the week before the wedding. Family and friends will be visiting, you want to be able to relax and enjoy catching up with everyone, and not have a lot of jobs to do! I made the mistake of writing my speech the morning before and morning of the wedding. If I was to go back I would of make sure to have this done 2 weeks before the wedding.

What was your most memorable moment of your special day?
My most memorable part of the day was walking into the church and seeing all of our friends and family and of course my husband-to-be standing at the altar. It’s ironic that I say that as this was the one part of the day that I was most nervous about. Once the doors of the church opened the adrenaline kicked-in, you see all your loved ones smiling, you really can’t help but feel a burst of happiness.
