Today on the blog we have the fabulous Lauren and her new hubby Eoin. Lauren fell in love with Elsie by Essense of Australa, a classic aline with a scoop neckline for the modern bride.

Lauren, firstly tell us about your dress?
From the moment I got engaged I knew I wanted to visit Pearls and Lace. I had been following them on social media for a long time and I just knew I would find my dream dress here… and that I did !! Pearls and Lace was the only shop I visited and wow it does not disappoint. Before my bridal appointment I went through the website and social media to take some screenshots of dresses I was interested in trying on. This was really helpful on the day as it gave us a good starting point. Trisha was an absolute dream throughout the whole appointment. She was so helpful and really made the experience very special for us all. We had so much fun with her. I tried on about 6/7 dresses in total. Ones that I had chosen, one my mum chose and one my bridesmaids chose. However my gasp from behind the curtain before the girls even seen my dress on was enough to convince us all that it was the one. I loved the idea of the minimalistic modern bridal look and that I found in the gorgeous Elsie from Essence of Australia. I fell in love with the simplicity of the dress, the effortless slit and the very practical pockets!! A lot of our guests commented that it reminded them of old Hollywood glam, and I can say for sure I felt every bit a million dollars in it. It really was my dream dress.
How did you style your dress?
The day I went to collect my dress I was SO excited to try it on again. Emma was amazing, she helped me try on different accessories and veils. I went with a stunning cathedral length, plain, satin trimmed veil and pearl detailed sleeves. My earrings were a drop pearl (Elie, Leslie, Hailey or Lainey) and my shoes were pearl detailed, pointed toe, sling backs. I then chose simple long stem white roses for my flowers. I wanted the overall look to be classic, timeless, elegance.
Tell us about your bridal party?
We had a monochrome minimalistic theme for our wedding. So I found stunning black velvet dresses for my bridesmaids. They had one sleeve and a gorgeous slit similar to mine. Of course we then had to go for the classic tuxedos!! The groom matched the bridesmaids with an amazing black velvet jacket while his groomsmen wore the more classic jackets. My beautiful mum was my something blue. She wore a baby blue crushed velvet jacket paired with a satin swing skirt which she had made for the big day.
What would your advice be for other brides to be?
Enjoy every moment. It really is the most special time of your life. Not just the day itself the whole lead up to it as well. Relax and embrace it all. At the end of the day everyone is there for you and your partner and it will all work out perfectly. Take it all in, don’t stress, be grateful and I promise you it really is the best day of your life.
