REAL BRIDE BLOG - LAURA & CHRISTOPHER

From the moment she walked into the boutique,  Laura told us she wanted to keep an open mind. Like so many brides, she wasn’t expecting to find her dress in the very first shop she visited — in fact, she thought it would take a few appointments before she found something she truly loved. She wasn’t set on a particular style, she simply wanted something flattering, comfortable, and something that felt like herself. This is exactly why we always encourage our brides to trust the process and stay open to trying different looks. Our job is to guide you, suggest styles you may not have chosen for yourself, and help you see the possibilities — because so often, the dress you fall in love with isn’t the one you imagined. And as we always say… when you know, you know.

Let's hear all about it...

Laura, firstly tell us about your dress?

I went into the shop with an open mind but not thinking I'd find what I wanted in the first shop I went into, boy was I wrong! I tried not to be too set on a particular style, my main priority was to find something flattering and that I felt comfortable in. I tried on 6 dresses before "the one". The dress was Essence of Australia and I felt incredible in it. Nollaig my bridal consultant picked it and I couldn't have picked better for myself :)

How did you style your dress?

My dress was strappy but Nollaig had ordered extra lace appliqués that my seamstress attached to my straps and they really made it, they were only attached with buttons that I could have taken off but I decided to keep them on all day. I wore an Evenstar necklace (I'm a big lord of the rings fan) that my now husband bought me as a wedding gift and a very simple veil. My only other accessories were my earrings.. but there were 13 of them haha I made my own bouquet which was a mix of ivory, green and orange, I love autumn colours!

Tell us about your bridal party?

My Matron of Honour and bridesmaids wore dark green dresses with gold shoes with simple jewellery with green stones and they had hoop bouquets.

What would your advice be for other brides to be?

I know it's easier said than done but try not to stress yourself out too much, as long as ye sign on the dotted line everything else is a bonus. I didn't even have a veil till a week and a half before! And try stay with your husband as much as you can on the day :)

What was your most memorable moment of your special day?

There's so many to choose from, we had the best day. Having my mum give me away and seeing my now husband at the end of the isle were definitely highlights for sure. And myself and my girls had the most relaxing morning getting ready, even though there was 6 of us getting ready there was no stress at all :)

We feel so lucky to be part of moments like this, and we’re always grateful when a bride chooses us to be part of such a special time in her life. Thank you for trusting us, for keeping an open mind, and for allowing us to help you find the dress that made you feel incredible.
