REAL BRIDE BLOG - HANNAH & SHANE

REAL BRIDE BLOG - HANNAH & SHANE

Today we have the beautiful Hannah on the blog, not forgetting her new husband Shane. Hannah travelled from Kerry with her lovely mum and sister.  It feels incredibly rewarding to know that brides travel from various places just to visit us here at Pearls and Lace. Your trust in us to be part of your special journey means the world to our team. Thank you to all our beautiful brides for allowing us to be a part of such a memorable moment in your lives! 💕"

Hannah chose 'Maeve' from Essense of Australia, a luxurious column dress with cowl neckline and spaghetti straps. Maeve exudes that Old Hollywood glamour in a modern and soft luxe look.  In the back, a low scooped open detail meets a row of fabric-covered buttons before falling into a sweeping train.

Let's hear all about it...

Hannah, firstly tell us about your dress?

My dress was so simple but so elegant, I had a completely different idea to what kind of dress I wanted, Initially I was going for something very detailed and a boho vibe but the more dresses I tried on it was clear that something with little detail suited me far better. I was definitely torn between two in the end, one was more of a ballgown vibe but the girls in pearls and lace were fantastic because they showed me an over-skirt with the more fitted dress and it was perfect and meant I got two dresses in one! I just had my mum and sister with me and they knew it was the one as soon as I tried it with the over-skirt. I just loved how elegant and timeless it was and I'd never look back at my pictures and think why did I wear that dress! The girls in Pearls and Lace are also another reason why I picked the dress there, There's such a lovely vibe from them and they can't do enough for you, I would 100% drive 6 hours to go up there again and again if I could!
Essense Of Australia was the designer for the dress and over-skirt.

How did you style your dress?

I added the most beautiful veil from Pearls and Lace which had such lovely detail and it 100% added to the dress and I think because the dress was so simple the veil really added such a lovely touch. I don't think I went for a specific style, just simple and timeless. I had lovely drop pearl earrings and that's all the jewellery I wore other than my rings! My flowers were absolutely beautiful, a lovely local business to Tipperary - Clonakenny Flower Farm, designed all my flowers and I just sent a couple of pictures of white and pink tone flowers and Ali did all the work then, they turned out amazing and complemented myself and all the bridesmaids dresses.

Tell us about your bridal party?

The bridesmaids had lovely satin champagne gowns from Oh Hello Clothing, they were fantastic quality and complimented all of the girls separately, they were a great dress! I also got them rose gold earrings and bracelets from Rosie and Dott. They are such a lovely company too, very personal! We got lovely suits from Redchurch in Cork and they were a dream to deal with start to finish even when we changed the grooms suit, Shane, the groom was matching with our two little boys and the groomsmen had the same suit jacket but a slight colour difference and no waistcoat, they also wore chinos and bow ties so it was a great relaxed vibe. We also got personalized cufflinks and socks for them all to wear.

What would your advice be for other brides to be?

I know everyone says it, but the day really does fly by so soak it all up as much as you can, I was so lucky that our morning was so chilled and that really slowed down the time as no one was stressing or freaking out so you can enjoy it so much more! Also the wedding blues are real!! try to plan nice little things to do after the wedding because I definitely felt lost once I came down from the high as it's so much planning and organising beforehand so once it's over you like what now? Getting your photos back really does boost your mood again! We are so grateful to our photographer, he was absolutely amazing and the pictures really let you relive the moments! So that's one thing you definitely don't want to 'save' on, they are worth every penny!

What was your most memorable moment of your special day?

I don't know if I could pick just one moment! It was all amazing, seeing my little boys all suited and booted was definitely a memorable moment though!

From the first appointment to the final twirl, it’s been an absolute joy to be a part of your love story.
