REAL BRIDE BLOG - GEMMA & GEORGE

Whether you’re team Pinterest-board-since-forever or just starting your wedding dress journey, we are here for you!!!  Every week we endeavour to share some real life inspiration, in the form of real life brides, so grab a cuppa and enjoy!

Today on the blog we have the stunning Gemma and her now husband George.

Let's hear all about it...

Gemma, firstly tell us about your dress?

My dress was exactly what I wanted even though I didn't know exactly what I was looking for until I put it on. Pearls and Lace was my first stop and I had the pleasure of having the wonderful Trisha to help me find the perfect dress. I think I tried on about 8 dresses and was about to give up hope until Trisha landed in with one final dress to try on. Low and behold this was the one! I felt amazing in it, it was glitzy, it was flattering, it was a show stopper, it was everything I wanted in one dress. And once I showed my bride tribe I knew this was it. Everyone loved it, confirming this was indeed My Dress!

How did you style your dress?

I styled my dress with a gem stone chapel length veil and some beautiful drop pearl earrings both from Pearl's and Lace. My dress was off the shoulder and I could have worn a necklace but I felt like less was definitely more in this instance. I had a very elegant and classy upstyle with some pearl detail in the body of the hair to give it that extra timeless effect. My flowers were colourful and fun which is exactly what I wanted. It's no coincidence we picked September to get married as I love the colours that are associated with that time of year.

Tell us about your bridal party?

The girls wore gorgeous Rust coloured dresses which I sourced on line. Each dress was different in style but all were made using the same material to tie them altogether.
George wore a beautiful green tweed style suit whilst the groomsmen wore navy suits which we purchased from Tomorrow's bridal and menswear in Derry.

What would your advice be for other brides to be?

My advice would be to enjoy the process and try not to get sucked into the online hysteria of what the wedding must haves of the moment are. Less is more. Good food, good music and good craic are the 3 best ingredients for a successful wedding!
Enjoy the dress picking process, bring people who will be honest and positive. Try on dress styles you think you won't like cause it very likely might be the exact style you go for.

What was your most memorable moment of your special day?

I loved every moment of our special Day but the absolute highlight was walking into the ballroom as the new Mr and Mrs surrounded by all our nearest and dearest and the place on their feet. It's an over whelming feeling of love to see everyone there for you and wanting nothing but the best for you and your future together.

Thanks for sharing your wedding journey with us! 💕
Wishing you a lifetime of happiness
