Finding your dream dress isn’t always what you expect—and that’s part of the magic. What starts as a clear vision can quickly evolve once you begin trying gowns on, discovering new shapes, styles, and how each one truly makes you feel. Keeping an open mind and trusting both the process and your stylist can lead you to something even better than you imagined.
This bride’s journey is a perfect example of how stepping outside your comfort zone can completely change everything. From rethinking silhouettes to revisiting a gown with fresh eyes, sometimes it’s that second look that makes everything click—and suddenly, you just know you’ve found the one.
Today on the blog we our beautiful bride Erin and her now husband Ciaran.
Let's hear all about it...
Erin, firstly tell us about your dress?
Before going dress shopping, I had looked up a lot of dresses from all different shops and had narrowed it down to a ballgown shape. The first shop I went to, I tried on 4 ballgown shapes and hated them all. I also tried on a fitted gown and was surprised by how comfortable I actually felt in it. One of the ballgowns I loved the top of it and was definitely an option but I couldn't stop thinking about the fitted one. I knew of quiet a few people who had gone to Pearls and Lace and had nothing but good things to say. So that night I had a look on their website and found a dress that was a mix of the 2 dresses I liked! During my appointment at Pearls and Lace, I told my sales woman Nollaig some of the dresses I had seen and I had liked and she brought me in a few other options. We left the one I really liked to last but I didn't say yes to the dress straight away. We tried on another similar dress but I knew straight away what was missing. I tried on the original dress again and I just knew it was the one. I was so worried about how you know which dress is for you, but I knew straight away the second time I put it on that I had to have it. My dress was the Marsha dress from the Eva Lendel collection. The dress was fitted, incredibly detailed and sparkly. But also had the extra bonus of a detachable skirt with a long, glittery train. It was the complete opposite of everything I had saved, screenshotted etc but was just perfect in every way. I need to give a special mention to my seamstress, Linda Sloane Couture, for the amazing job she did at fitting it.

How did you style your dress?

What would your advice be for other brides to be?
It is you and your partners day, no one else's. People will definitely give their opinions, but you don't have to listen to them. You do what the two of you want. It really is true what they say, the day goes in so so quickly, so try to enjoy every second of it!

What was your most memorable moment of your special day?
The whole day was just the best ever, it's so hard to pin point just one moment of it. But I would have to say I never left the dancefloor once thanks to our amazing band, The Arthur Wedding Band. We couldn't have asked for a better day from start to finish!
In the end, it all came down to that feeling—the one you can’t quite put into words, but you instantly recognise. From rethinking silhouettes to trusting her instincts, this journey led her to a dress that felt completely and undeniably right.
We absolutely loved being part of her experience at Pearls & Lace, and watching everything come together so perfectly. A special thank you as well for sharing this part of your story with us—it’s such a joy to see each bride’s journey unfold in their own unique way.
