REAL BRIDE BLOG - EMMA & ETHAN

At Pearls and Lace, we know that no two bridal journeys are ever the same. Some brides plan years in advance, while others find themselves on a much shorter timeline—each story just as special as the next.

We often meet brides at all stages of life, and every appointment brings its own unique set of emotions, excitement, and sometimes uncertainty. Whether it’s finding “the one” quickly, navigating changes in body shape, or simply not knowing where to begin, our role is always the same: to guide, support, and create a truly memorable experience.

This is one of those stories—a reminder that sometimes, everything comes together exactly as it’s meant to.

Emma fell in love with Faith, A sophisticated lace column gown, Faith blends graphic lace appliqué with sleek crepe for a timeless, romantic look. Featuring a strapless sweetheart neckline, sheer open back with pearl button detailing, and a stunning cutout lace train, it beautifully contours the figure while adding a touch of modern elegance.

Let's hear all about it...

Emma, firstly tell us about your dress?

We booked our wedding only 6 months before we said I Do, I rang Pearls and lace and luckily they had a cancellation available for fittings. I was 7 months pregnant when I went to Pearls and lace so it was difficult  to imagine what would look nice without a big pump... I had saved so many photos of what I thought I wanted but in the end my mum picked the dress and I'm so glad thats the one I wore on my special day. I felt like a princess, I tried on about 8-10 dresses I would say in total. I knew it was the one too as the detail in the front and the back was incredible. All of my bridesmaids agreed. As I had only had the baby 2 months before my wedding I was hoping it would fit ok. Thankfully the dress arrived in time for me to take it to the dressmaker and make the necessary adjustments in only a few weeks. I wouldnt of changed it now looking back that was always meant to be my wedding dress.

How did you style your dress?

I wore simple jewellery as there was so much detail in the dress itself it needed to be appreciated on its own. I went with a simple boquet this was quickly forgotten about once the fun had begun.

Tell us about your bridal party?

I styled the bridesmaids in everything the same, from jewellery to shoes. The girls wore a simple pink dress flattering to all figures as a couple of the girls were expecting and I wanted them to be comfortable for the day. The men wore tuxedo's, the jackets were quickly left on chairs when the band started.

What would your advice be for other brides to be?

Enjoy the day, even if something doesn't go to plan,  remember 'that is exactly how it was meant to go' and you will laugh about it later.

What was your most memorable moment of your special day?

We visited the coffee shop where we first met for our final few photographs, just us, no Bridal party. This was lovely and the owner of Spill the beans Inch was so welcoming we are regular customers there since, in Inch Island.

Every bride’s journey is different, and that’s what makes each story so special. Whether your timeline is short, your plans change along the way, or you’re simply unsure where to begin, finding your dress should always feel exciting, personal, and a little bit magical.

At Pearls and Lace, we’re here to guide you through every step—helping you discover the dress that feels truly meant for you.  We’re incredibly grateful when a bride chose to share such a special part of her day with us—it’s a privilege we never take for granted.
