REAL BRIDE BLOG - ANNAGH & BRENDAN

As we approach the end of 2024, it's a wonderful time to reflect on the year's bridal trends and gather inspiration for upcoming weddings. This year has showcased a delightful mix of classic elegance and modern flair, offering something special for every bride-to-be.

Our last couple of 2024, today on the blog we have Annagh and her new husband Brendan in the fabulous Lough Eske Castle.

Annagh found her dress in the form of "Sadie 2200" by Mikaella. Expertly crafted from sultry crepe, the Mikaella 2200 is the epitome of elegance. The fit and flare silhouette is complemented by a bateau neckline and an open keyhole back, adding a touch of allure.

Let's hear all about it...

Annagh, firstly tell us about your dress?

I always thought I wanted a fitted, all over laced  dress - I had lots of inspiration and plenty of images on my phone of pretty much the same style (lace mad!) I had went to one other store before pearls and lace and tried on all the  dresses  I liked - even ones I wasn't too keen on, just incase. No luck! Visited pearls and lace as the 2nd store to try on dresses with the views that I wasn't putting any pressure on myself and wanted to go with the flow. I tried on every style possible. Went well over my appointment time slot and the ladies where an absolute dream, there was no pressure, so casual and then the very last dress I tried on, I just cried when I seen it on me and knew it was the one! I did want my dress to be unique - so I got the back altered and added a cowl back, I was in two minds about this, as it was beautiful the way it was, but once it was altered, I was totally overjoyed, as I knew no one else would have that dress.. and it was extra special. When discussing this with the team at P&L they suggested to get the cowl clipped on, so I'd have the choice. The advice and support was second to none.
The whole process from the start, right through to collecting my dress was seamless and I genuinely couldn't be more thankful to the team, they truly are amazing at what they do. Picking my wedding dress was the most special part of organising the wedding and I was made feel so welcome and at ease with the team at P&L.

How did you style your dress?

I styled my dress with a belt, the girls helped me pick from the store and I fell in love with it as it was so sparkly and had pearls on it - which brings me on to my veil. I always wanted a long veil, that trailed behind my dress - there was tiny pearls and diamonds within the laced edging on the veil which tied in nicely with my dress and theme. I was so in love with it, that when we were designing our wedding cake we incorporated the dress (pearls) in it too! I wanted the whole image to look classic and timeless.

Tell us about your bridal party?

Our wedding was an autumn wedding, we wanted bold colours but maintaining an  elegant/ simplistic theme. We had burnt orange coloured bridal dresses with the same cut off dress that I had. The groomsmen wore black tux suits - and the flowers were absolutely out of this world which pulled it all together nicely.

What would your advice be for other brides to be?

My advice is to make sure you and your partner are happy- it's your day, and the day goes by so quickly so try to be present, take time out together and take it all in. It really does go by in the blink of an eye!

What was your most memorable moment of your special day?

The drive to the venue, we both got that quality time together for that duration of time- and we planned for it for that reason. Driving up to our venue in our car together - seeing our guests waiting to celebrate and knowing our day had came around and we were actually married!
Thank you so much Annagh and Brendan for giving us a glimpse inside your big day, we wish you both a lifetime of happy moments!
For those planning their special day, may these insights inspire a celebration that's both memorable and true to your vision.
