REAL BRIDE BLOG - AMY & AARON

Some bridal appointments take months of searching and multiple visits, while others have a little bit of magic from the very beginning. ✨ What started as a day out with her closest family and friends quickly turned into something much more memorable for this beautiful bride. With an open mind and no expectations of finding her dress so soon, she discovered a gown that felt completely right almost instantly — proving that sometimes the dress you least expect is the one that feels most like you. 💕

Let's hear all about it...

Amy, firstly tell us about your dress?

My appointment in Pearls and Lace was my first and last dress appointment. I went on a whim, wanting to bring my nearest and dearest for the day out shopping with me, and had heard about Pearls and Lace providing the most luxe experience for their brides, little did I know the second dress that was picked for me would be the one I would be wearing for my big day. I wore the Harlow dress, and it was the comfiest and most flattering dress. It was not at all what I expected to wear on my wedding day, but when I put it on, it just felt like me. I felt so beautiful and like my best self, and because of my short hair, the dress was a statement with the cap sleeve. My wedding dress was picked by Tricia who was my attendant that day, and she was amazing, so good at her job. I am so grateful of the experience I had at Pearls in Lace as I ended up with the dress of my dreams, and it was a very easy and enjoyable experience.

How did you style your dress?

My overall look had an elegant, vintage feel to it I think. I wore burnt orange court shoes (autumnal and matched the bridesmaid colours and flowers) and I wore a floor length veil (timeless) and my hairdresser made me a bespoke hair piece which tied everything together. I kept the jewellery simple with drop earrings and a bracelet my bridesmaids got me. I wanted my whole look to feel classy but with a dash of something different.

Tell us about your bridal party?

My bridesmaids wore rust orange dresses in whatever style they chose. They were bought off of Six Stories, and were excellent quality. Their accessories were gold and pearl accessories (earrings and bracelets, hairpieces too). They had total freedom on hair and makeup, as I wanted them to feel themselves and had a variety of hair accessories to choose from.

The groomsmen wore navy with rust bow ties, and the groom wore a forest green suit with a beige bow tie. Their pins matched the bouquets with a mixture of autumnal tones and sunflowers.

What would your advice be for other brides to be?

Just breath. It all comes together in the end. Don't sweat the little stuff, and don't panic and book an extra unnecessary thing the week before the wedding out of fear it's needed, it probably isn't.

Shop around second hand for decor, Facebook and Donedeal are great. And really try to enjoy the process, because it all goes so fast.

What was your most memorable moment of your special day?

Getting ready with my bridesmaids the morning of the wedding definitely stands out to me. It was such a happy and peaceful time because we gave ourselves loads of time. I was lucky I have two hairdressers who attended the wedding so they were both doing hair that morning which freed things up, and my ceremony wasn't until 2.30 and we stayed the night before in the hotel so we had a lie in. All in all it was such a chill time filled with giggles and banter.
  • Finally walking down the aisle was a big moment. The feeling of walking into the room is another world, the love you feel is immense and so heartwarming. I will remember that feeling forever.

Thank you to our beautiful bride for sharing her story and these wonderful photographs with us. 💕 It was a pleasure to be part of your bridal journey, and we're so delighted you found the dress that felt so perfectly you. Wishing you and your partner every happiness for the future and a lifetime of wonderful memories together. ✨
