REAL BRIDE BLOG - CLODAGH & SHANE

Sometimes the dress really does find its way back to you. From a dress saved on Instagram right at the beginning of her engagement to the gown she would eventually wear on her wedding day at the beautiful Great Southern Killarney, it was such a lovely full-circle moment.

Clodagh fell in love with the stunning Atlanta gown, featuring an elegant off-the-shoulder satin neckline, softly ruched bodice and a fitted sparkle-lace mermaid silhouette. The low lace-up back and dramatic train added the perfect finishing touches, creating a look that was both romantic and striking.

Let's hear all about it...

Clodagh, firstly tell us about your dress?

The dress I picked was actually a dress I had saved from the pearls and lace Instagram page when I first got engaged and actually had it as the background to my count down for going dress shopping! But I had changed my mind on it until the day I got to try it on! It was the fifth dress Nollaig brought into me and instantly when I stood into it I know it was the one! I felt a million different emotions and I know it was my dress! Once my mom and two best friends seen it they also knew instantly it was the one.

How did you style your dress?

I actually changed the dress a little by making the cap sleeves detachable for the evening of the wedding. I wore a pearls and lace cathedral length vial with pearls on it, my shoes were jimmy choo, the overall  look for the wedding was nice and Christmassy, I left the flowers to my amazing florist Maura from mauras cottage flowers in Tralee, Co.Kerry, she’s amazing at what she does and did an amazing job!

Tell us about your bridal party?

We went for. Dark forest velvet green off the shoulder dress for the bridesmaids from folkster in Kilkenny, and our groomsmen wore black classic tuxedo

What would your advice be for other brides to be?

Enjoy every moment and all the little experiences on the lead up to your wedding! Do your best not to stress everything will work out even better then you could imagine. Enjoy the day and be present with everyone you love around.

What was your most memorable moment of your special day?

I honestly loved every second of our special day! I couldn’t have wished for it to have gone any better, I find it quite hard to pick just one moment from the day, but I think for me walking down the aisle with my mom by my side and seeing Shane waiting for me at the top was a moment that was truly special and one I will never forget. Another very special moment was when we were taking our photos at Ross Castle Killarney a beautiful little robin appeared in the photos, it was a beautiful moment in the day as we got married on my dads 12th anniversary and it was a sign that we knew he was with us

Thank you so much for sharing a little glimpse into your special day with us. We loved being part of your dress journey and wish you both a lifetime of happiness together 🤍
