REAL BRIDE BLOG - KAREN & SHANE

Another stunner on the blog today, Karen and her now husband Shane. Karen fell in love with an understated fit and flare high neck/ low back wedding dress from Mikaella in a beautiful figure hugging crepe.

Let's hear all about it...

Karen, firstly tell us about your dress?

The team of girls at pearls and laces are absolutely amazing and I can't thank them enough for making my first bridal experience so enjoyable. I was two months postnatal feeling very fragile and nervous but my stylist was patient and so kind constantly given me reassurance. She spent time hearing my desires, understanding my vision. I knew I wanted a simple, lightweight dress that didn’t have a massive train, When I tried on the Mikaella 2305, I loved it everything about it, it was so elegant but the open back and beaded belt giving it the Wow factor for me. After the initial excitement subsided naturally, I worried Id jumped into my decision so I visited one other boutique. I left that day knowing 100% the Mikaella 2305 was my wedding dress.
On my wedding day I was so happy I felt comfortable, confident and beautiful in my dress, it was lightweight and with the short train meant I wasn’t lugging around extra weight and the train didn’t need to be pinned up. I never left the dance we had the best night with my friends and family

How did you style your dress?

I wanted a fuss-free minimal style, so I kept my jewellery simple. My mum knows me best and surprised me with beautiful elegant earrings and matching necklace. I always loved how chic and elegant wedding bouquet with eucalyptus and foliage looked and I felt they really complemented the minimalist wedding dresses, so when planning our wedding I knew the bouquet I wanted so I incorporated eucalyptus into our invitations and church flowers.

Tell us about your bridal party?

For my bridesmaids my main priority was that they felt comfortable and beautiful in their dresses. Keeping with the earthy tones we focused on burgundy or hunter green dresses; I'm delighted we went with the hunter green with the plunging neckline with my higher neckline worked well together and the girls had beautiful pearls details on the sleeve. The lads hired their suits from Grahan Enniskillen they went with the sharp slim fit navy suit paired with black shoes.

What would your advice be for other brides to be?

Don’t waste a second fretting over the small stuff, try focus on what really matters. Soak it all in and enjoy every second with your family and friends.

What was your most memorable moment of your special day?

This is a really hard one to answer, I don’t think I have a favorite moment because I can happily say I loved all of it, if we could do it all again, we would. The morning getting ready with my parents, my daughter Nessa and my bridesmaids everything was magical. I loved watching my two sons Odhran and Feidhlim walk up the aisle
to their dad and having my own Dad walk me up. Seeing Shane at the top and all our friends and family there to celebrate, the excitement walking into the reception room all your guests cheering us on. The dancing, the dance floor was packed the whole night, we’d so much fun. I couldn’t stop smiling all day.

We have the best brides....... Thank you Karen, Emma loved having you as our bride
